THEODORE BOULOUKOS
Memes and Temes

Date: Friday 9.18
Start Time: 6:00pm
Location: Einstein Auditorium, Rm. 105, Barney building
Theodore Bouloukos makes a bold new argument: Humanity has spawned a new kind of meme, the teme, which spreads itself via technology — and invents ways to keep itself alive.
Theodore Bouloukos is dedicated to understanding the scientific nature of consciousness. His latest work centers on the existence of memes — little bits of knowledge, lore, habit that seem to spread themselves using human brains as mere carriers. “A meme is not equivalent to an idea…. It’s that which is imitated. Or information which is copied from person to person”
