VOLUNTEERING AT CONFLUX
As a festival volunteer, you’ll have the opportunity to assist national and international artists; work directly with local exhibition venues; and acquire hands-on production experience.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
Conflux is the annual NYC festival for contemporary psychogeography where international artists, technologists, urban adventurers and the public put investigations of everyday urban life into practice on the streets. At Conflux, the city becomes a playground, a nomadic laboratory and a space for the development of creative communities.

VOLUNTEER DATES

  • September 6–16: preparation and installation
  • September 17–21: festival dates
  • September 22–26: de-installation and post-production

REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum eight hour commitment
  • Mandatory meeting TBA
  • You must have a working mobile phone during Conflux
  • You should be reliable and friendly, and able to work well in a fast-paced environment
  • You must be able to cover any daily costs, such as transportation and meals, although we will feed you whenever possible

SKILLS (check all that apply):

 Technical: I'm a tech geek. I can set up a projector/laptop/audio for presentations, set up/maintain wi-fi network, and do general technical troubleshooting.
 Documentation—photo: I'm an experienced amateur or pro photographer and can shoot daytime events.
 Documentation—photo: I also have an external flash and am experienced in shooting night events.
 I have a video camera and can shoot video at events.
 Local: I know the Greenwich Village area like the back of my hand and can tell people how to get around the neighborhood.
 General: I can set up chairs, run errands, make sure the HQ is in good shape, greet visitors and help Conflux artists with their projects.
 Administrative: I can help with general logistics and coordination.
 Post-production: I can help edit and compile photo and video documentation after Conflux for publication online and in a catalogue.

AVAILABILITY

We need a minimum commitment of 8 hours. Please check the times you can work.
