BYOD (Bring Your Own Device)

This scheduled event will take place at Conflux HQ on Thursday, September 11, from 1:00 PM to 2:30 PM as part of the Thursday Presentation Series. Tickets can be purchased here.

Mobile media such as iPods and mobile phones have undeniably transformed
urban experience by challenging our ideas about public vs private space,
overlaying new forms of information and communication onto the streets,
and reframing social and historical topographies. This year at Conflux,
six artists have used mobile media as psychogeographers’ tools, both
revealing the latent realities of place through the use of these
technologies as well as critiquing the role of technology itself. Learn
about these projects with this set of lightning demonstrations where the
artists will explain the motivations behind their work and provide
instructions for experiencing their projects, which are ongoing
throughout the course of the festival. Moderated by Brian House.
