PLEASE SUPPORT CONFLUX 2008

Thanks to the generous support of dozens of donors, hundreds of artists, and thousands of participants, Conflux 2007 was a huge success.  With September fast approaching, we are confident that 2008 is going to be a banner year for the Conflux Festival, but we need your support to make it happen.   Please, make a tax-deductible donation now through our online donation form and help make this year’s festival possible.

Your donation will help us to pay for space and equipment rental, the printed materials and website for the festival, and logistical support for the participating artists.  We operate 100% on volunteer labor with little outside funding, relying on the enthusiasm and goodwill of our artists and partners.

2008 is going to be a big year for Conflux –we’re moving back to Manhattan for this year’s festival, in a new and exciting partnership with the Center for Architecture – an incredible venue that will allow us to host multiple lectures and events, install an exhibition in the main gallery space, and provide plenty of space for artists and participants to gather and exchange ideas.

Since 2003, when we had 30 mostly local artists and a small audience, Conflux has grown to include over 100 artists from around the globe including Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain, UK, and the USA. As our annual call for artists becomes more and more competitive and we receive hundreds of entries, the quality of projects increases and we are now proud to present what we feel is the most innovative work being produced in the field of public-space arts.

Thank you for your continued support of Conflux. Your donation will allow, as the Village Voice has described, our “network of maverick artists and unorthodox urban investigators to make fresh, if underground, contributions to pedestrian life in New York City, upping the ante on today’s fight for the soul of high-density metropolises.”

With many thanks,

Christina Ray
