We Love The Pickup Artist…
A special thanks to our friend Gertrude Berg who sent us a video of her 2007 Conflux project titled “The Pickup Artist.” Check it out - it’s quite hilarious. She also had some nice things to say about Conflux. In her words “Conflux is a great place that provides space for artistic exploration outside already defined borders.” We couldn’t agree more!
What’s the deal with this? Is this originality or creativity or something? seems cliche, boring and obnoxious - is this “performance” in brooklyn. the “artist” seems very detached from her reality.
is she detached from her reality? is it not everyone else thats seems in a state of possible detachment from ‘the’ reality? too much movement on the part of people from here to there, and no moments to fill what’s left between. hopefully she is headed somewhere, eventually. but for now we can at least find her filling in the between with a focus. she is looking for more than paper to pick.
