Project Description::

Rings of life is a new green sport that aims to connect the urban dweller with resplendent nature. Under the verdant backdrop of Washington Square Park, three teams will attempt to “connect the tree” with a physioball, an exercise tool that represents mankind’s physical and mental well being. The teams vyying to reconnect most with our planet are culled from the rich and fabled history of the Park: the Potters- representatives from the 20,000 corpses buried underneath the park( and eco-conscious compost contributors), the Beatnik Riot: drummers, folk singers and other colorful characters that gave the park its reputation in the 60’s, and NYU. The games will be open to anyone who wants to play and will be both competitive and fun. The games will be announced and documented to further cement the decisive outcome of this most important psychogeographic contest.
