| A mass-transit tour, Subtrak will take listener on a journey through the mass transit systems of the world. This sound will be explored as an audio tour. Listeners will travel on the NYC subway while listening to mass transit soundscapes on headphones composed of 8-15 countries, including Mexico City, London, Tangier and others while traveling on the NYC subway. Often, a familiar commute becomes background-a means to an end. But how would the journey from point A to B change if the normal ding of the door opening and the announcement "Stand clear of the closing door please", was replaced its Polish counterpart? With a different hum of the track, or tone as speed picks up or slows down, these soundscapes will aim to challenge the mental space of the rider, creating a different soundtrack for a potentially familiar environment. | Bring an MP3 player for the sound walk. | ||||
